University project. A school designed for children on the spectrum of learning disabilities. Warm timber materials, soft diffuse light and safe-feeling spaces were utilised to calm highly sensitive students. Research for this project showed that exter nal factors like light and sound can drastical ly distract children trying to focus. Based in Noordhoek , I carefully chose to keep many existing trees and experimented with the fibo naci sequence to inspire further subconsiously balanced spaces.
